Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Gloria began her career in Rio while only a teenager she learned the basics of design and fabrication techniques. She became a model and spent many days on the sunny beaches of Rio observing the girls in their bikinis. Gloria began to design bikinis for her friends and later created her own line of beachwear; an instant success on the beaches of Rio.

In Paris Gloria attended Ecole of Beaux-Arts and the Museum of Costume; where she studied the history of Haute Couture over the centuries and she visited the many Couture Houses including Christian Dior and Chanel.

The 90’s brought Gloria to New York to continue her professional training at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) concentrating on Knitwear and Fashion Design. There she had been exposed to the best designers.

Gloria’s professional credits include freelance design for the ABC Television Network and costume design for a Broadway play written by Brian Goluboff.

Gloria’s MetroCard dress was featured in the New York Post titled “one woman’s trash, another woman’s outfit…?” Gloria’s Designs have been featured in Cosmopolitan, In Style, Glamour, Ebony, Elle and more recently in Glamour issue dated May 2006. The article was entitled ”Find out your best suit, the Brazilian way!”

In 1998 Gloria launched her Design Studio in New York and her Internet store which sells swimwear today. She continues to create bikinis for her own customers since then.
